We opened the patio door onto our deck and the cold air hit our faces. We couldn't turn back now, Blake was ready. We ventured out into the cold.
We moved towards the deck steps (which have been changed into a makeshift slide). Blake rode the slide without hesitation and after a 4-foot ride, he reached the base and into the fresh powder.
Next we traversed around the yard in the knee-deep snow (well knee-deep for Blake anyways). We then made our way over towards Blake's sleigh where he was given a spin around the yard at speeds in excess of 8 kph (estimated speed). When the ride was over, Blake had some sizable snot-sicles and it was time to retreat into the warmth and comfort of our home. It was a memorable day.
